Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Diana, I’m 20 years old, and I’m currently finishing grade 13 in Germany. I was born in Spain and raised between Spanish and Romanian cultures, which made me an open-minded, curious, and flexible person. I’ve always loved connecting with people, especially children, and exploring what makes each culture unique.

I want to become an au pair in South Korea because I truly believe that the best way to understand a country is to live with its people. Korea has always fascinated me—with its language, values, and traditions—and being an au pair gives me the opportunity to experience this cultural exchange in the most authentic way. I’d love to support your family while also learning Korean and becoming part of your everyday life.

You should host me because I’m responsible, caring, and genuinely enjoy spending time with children. I don’t see this as just a job, but as a meaningful experience where we can grow together. I bring not only my helping hands, but also a warm heart, a willingness to learn, and a deep respect for your culture and home. I am also fluent in several languages, so communication will be easy and fun!

I believe I qualify for this position because of my experience with children—from babysitting my younger brother and cousins to supporting families around me. I’m organized, patient, and always put the child’s well-being first. I’ve worked part-time jobs while studying, so I know how to be independent and dependable. Most importantly, I would love to be a safe and positive person your child can trust.

Thank you for considering me as your future au pair. I would be honored to become a part of your family.

Warm regards,
Diana

Experience

Although I haven’t worked as an official au pair yet, I have a lot of hands-on experience caring for children. As the eldest daughter and oldest cousin in my family, I’ve always had the responsibility of looking after younger children—from babysitting my twin cousins since they were babies to supporting my younger brother growing up. Taking care of children has always been something that came naturally to me, and I truly enjoy spending time with them, helping them learn, and watching them grow.

I would love to become an au pair abroad because it’s the perfect combination of two things I care deeply about: working with children and learning about new cultures. Living with a host family allows for a deeper cultural exchange, where I can experience daily life in a completely new environment while also giving back and supporting your family. It’s not just about traveling—it’s about truly connecting and growing, both personally and culturally.

Becoming an au pair in South Korea, especially, is a dream for me. I’m very interested in learning the language and experiencing the country in a real, meaningful way—not as a tourist, but as someone who is part of a home.
