Hey there!
My name is McKenna, and I'm 22 years old from California. I recently graduated from University of California, Irvine with a Bachelors in Psychological Sciences. I have worked in a variety of childcare and education jobs thus far, and I am looking to further this experience while cultivating meaningful relationships. I am an easy-going, creative individual who is looking to explore new places, and I am very excited at the prospect of connecting with a host family!

Experience

I started out my childcare journey as a nanny for three amazing children when I was 17 years old. I worked with this family for a year throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and aided with the children's' transition back into traditional school following online learning. At 18, I b working as a preschool teacher. I did this for a year before having to move to Southern California for school, and I returned to the center I worked for following the completion of my degree. I have also gained experience as a teacher's assistant in both early childhood and elementary education settings.
Nannying and preschool teaching have been my absolute favorite positions I've held. I love watching children move through their stages of development and helping them develop social emotional skills. I have extensive experience with children aged 2-7, as well as moderate experience with one-year-olds and children aged 8-12.
As I am entering the next phase of my life post-grad, I am looking for new and enriching experiences. Becoming an Au Pair seems like the perfect way to bridge my desire for travel and my love of working with children.
