Dear Host Family,

My name is Candela, I’m a 23-year-old girl from Madrid who has just finished studying a double university degree in Law and International Relations. I’m writing to express my enthusiasm for becoming an au pair this summer, as I believe it would be an incredibly enriching experience before joining the corporate path.

I have studied most of my life in Spain, but also in Ireland, where I studied high school by my own choice because I wanted to experience to study abroad. I believe that can show you a bit of who I am. A really curious girl who is always looking to meet new people!

I started working as an english private tutor at 15, and by 18, I was already teaching a debate course to students aged 13 to 16 at my former school. These experiences taught me not only how to communicate and connect with young people, but also how to be patient, responsible, and encouraging. In university I have participated in several volunteers, since helping refugees with humanitarian aid, to giving lessons to foreign kids who had just arrived Madrid and had no idea of spanish.

Beyond academics, I’m someone who truly enjoys life — whether that’s hiking through the countryside or spending the day exploring museums in the city. My heart is split between the peace of nature and the energy of urban life. I love music, animals, and cooking (I make a mean tortilla de patatas!), and I bring a lot of joy and creativity into everything I do. Also, I am a make up artist, I work in marketing, but also for bridals and kinder parties.

Being an au pair for me is not just about looking after children — it’s about becoming part of a family, sharing cultures, and creating meaningful memories. I’m fluent in English and, nearly in French, and would be more than happy to help your children practice or learn new languages in a fun and natural way.

Above all, I care deeply about the people around me. My greatest motivation is to be there for others, and I hope to bring warmth, laughter, and a sense of calm to your home this summer.
