Letter to the family

Hi there!

Lovely to meet you. I’m Issy, a friendly, down-to-earth 24 year-old from the UK with a big heart and an even bigger family (I’m one of nine!). Growing up in such a lively household meant I naturally stepped into a helping role from a young age, changing nappies, helping with homework, and always being the one to round up the little ones for bedtime stories.

Since I was 14, I’ve spent most weekends babysitting for local families, and last summer I took on a nannying/au pair role in Spain for a family friend, looking after two amazing children. I absolutely loved being part of their home - getting stuck into daily routines, planning fun activities, and forming a real bond with the kids.

Earlier this year, I spent three months living in Melbourne and Sydney, and I completely fell in love with the Australian lifestyle. I’m now hoping to return as an au pair while I take steps toward making Australia my long-term home.

I’m warm, responsible, and great at adapting to whatever a family needs - whether that’s helping with routines, keeping the kids entertained, or pitching in with pets and household bits. I also work in marketing, but my real passion is people and nothing makes me feel more at home than being part of a family.

Experience

Last summer, I worked as an au pair in Spain for a family friend, looking after two amazing children. I lived with the family and became part of their everyday life—helping with school runs, meal times, bedtimes, and everything in between. We spent our days playing outside, doing crafts, and learning little bits of Spanish and English together. It was such a rewarding experience, and I loved forming a close bond with the kids while supporting the parents with their routines.

I’d love to become an au pair abroad again because it’s the perfect combination of everything I enjoy - working with children, being part of a family, and experiencing life in a different country. I spent time in Melbourne and Sydney earlier this year and completely fell in love with Australia. Now I’m hoping to return, not just as a visitor, but to truly immerse myself in the culture and build meaningful connections. Being an au pair is such a special way to do that - and I’d be so excited to bring warmth, energy, and a helping hand to a new family.
