Letter to the family

Dear host family
I am a energetic 18-year-old girl from Finland. After I graduate High School this May, I hope to work in Japan as an Au Pair. I'm extremely interested in Japanese traditional and pop-culture and studying the language. Still my main mission would be to help the family in every way and give the children a warm and safe environment. I believe the cultural experiences and language come naturally among the work.
I am somebody who takes their responsibilities seriously. I am a hard-worker and won't give up easily. I believe I have what it takes to be an Au Pair. I can adapt easily and listen to your advice and suggestions. I would play with the children everyday and take them out if possible. I hope we can have a fun trip at some point! I could also help them with homework if they go to school. I can prepare food, clean and run errands.

Experience

I've taken a course related to childcare and babysitting. Now I can work as a licensed nanny until I leave to became and Au Pair. The course was held by an NGO League for Child Welfare from January to March 2020. It included lectures and exercises about babysitting. To complete the course you had to gain 9 hours of babysitting experience. When I get the required paperwork done, I'll be qualified to be a babysitter/nanny for families in need that contact me through the NGO. I can work for different families with varying aged children, and gain useful experience.

Additionally, I often look after my two younger siblings and do lots of activities with them. I also work with children constantly in Scout activities. I was a helper on a summer camp for children aged 7 to 11 in 2018. My tasks there and in Scouts have included playing indoors and outdoors, cooking, singing and getting ready to bed with the kids for several days. I enjoy that routine very much and I have gotten good feedback for my performance. That is a big reason why I would like to be an Au Pair.
