Letter to the family

Dear potential family,

My name is Susannah. I am a 27-year-old English Au Pair who is currently making Australia her home. I love working with children – I have a range of childcare experience over several years, both professionally and personally. I’ve worked as an English teacher in both Spain and Italy, as well as a one-on-one teaching assistant for a visually impaired child at a prestigious school in London. I’ve also worked at children’s activity camps during the summer and regularly look after my 3-year-old nephew at home.

I am conscientious and in tune with children’s needs, and I love planning activities to ensure everyone has fun. My teaching experience could also come in handy when helping the children with their homework.

I'm very energetic and extroverted, and I love getting outdoors whenever I can. I strongly believe in the importance of children doing the same. Being an Au Pair would be a dream way for me to see a country, as it's a chance to become part of a family, experience the local culture, and find a home away from home.

I'm a fully trained house guest who loves to help out wherever I can. I’m able to cook, clean, and hold a full UK driver’s licence, with nearly a decade of safe driving experience in a variety of vehicles. Experience

As a teaching assistant for a visually impaired 11-year-old at Sarum Hall School in London, I was responsible for the children on multiple overnight trips. While I ensured the wider class had fun, my main focus was this one child—making sure she was safe and included in all activities, as well as administering her medication and protecting her from any allergens during mealtimes.

At Atlas Camps—a children's summer camp in my hometown—I kept the children entertained with creative activities. I’ve also followed my love for working with children abroad, teaching English in both Spain and Italy. Although many of the children I taught spoke little English, I was able to connect with them through engaging, creative activities that kept them involved and excited to learn.

At home, I’m frequently trusted to care for my 3-year-old nephew, and I understand the attention, patience, and dedication needed to look after a young child.
