Letter to the family
My name is Laila, and I am a compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated individual with a strong passion for childcare and helping others. I have a deep-rooted love for supporting people of all ages and backgrounds, and I am excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair and Nanny in your family.
My desire to become an Au Pair comes from my lifelong experience of caring for others. As the eldest sibling with two younger sisters, I naturally took on a supportive and nurturing role from an early age. I also help care for my 3-year-old stepson, taking on many motherly responsibilities such as preparing meals, organizing activities, and making sure he feels loved, safe, and stimulated.
I have practical experience working with children in a professional setting. I spent afternoons volunteering in a primary school nursery, where I supported 3-4-year-olds through educational activities, playtime, and snack preparation. This helped me develop strong communication, patience, and creativity—skills essential in child care.
Beyond working with children, I’ve also volunteered in a residential home for the elderly, assisting with daily tasks and providing companionship. These experiences have made me more empathetic, reliable, and attentive to the needs of others.
Additionally, I lead a support group that helps young women recover from mental health challenges and experiences of sexual violence. I believe deeply in creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
At just 13, I started my own award-winning business, showing my independence, responsibility, and strong work ethic. I’ve also collaborated with Middlesbrough Council and the Stronger Families program to improve services for young people and families, including those with disabilities.
I believe you should host me because I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on your children’s lives. I bring warmth, experience, and energy, and I genuinely care about creating a safe, enriching, and happy environment for them. I am flexible, open-minded, and eager to learn about your culture and way of life.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to become part of your family and to contribute to your children’s development and happiness.
