Although I have had no direct experience as an Au pair prior, I have had lengthy experience working and interacting with children from ages 2-18 for many years. I have babysat children ( up to 4 at a time) from ages 3-14 - in which I helped children with homework, cooked and entertained - as well as volunteered with a local childminder in which I gained experience of overseeing groups of children as large as 14 at a time as well as gained experience with infants and children with special needs.
When travelling previously, i have found my horizons and opinions broadened through the immersion into other cultures and languages. The ability to do this through the Au Pair role to a much deeper level is the reason I have focused my attentions to working abroad as it proposes the unique opportunities further explore different ways of life, as well as different education styles and language skills I can take forward with me in the future.
