Letter to the family

Hi there! My name is Spencer, and I am hoping you might host me for my first experience as an au pair! I studied biology and environmental studies in college, which led me to study environmental education and sustainability through graduate school. I taught at an outdoor school for ages 5-18+ for two years in northern Minnesota, and I’m currently teaching physical education to ages 4-8 at a progressive school in western Montana. I have always wanted to travel slowly by really living in a place and getting to know it and the community over more time than a short vacation allows, and I think being an au pair is perfect for that. I love children, and I love making a home feel cozy and clean. I’m really excited about the chance to be an au pair, and I would absolutely love to join your family for a short time!

This will be my first au pair experience though I’ve been a teacher for several years and have many years of off-and-on babysitting experience. I want to experience life in a community outside of my own culture and country, and I want to feel like a part of the community.
