Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Vanessa, I’m 21 years old and originally from Italy. I’m currently living in Germany with my husband, and together we dream of starting a new chapter of our lives in Switzerland. It’s a big step for us, and I would be so grateful and honored to begin this journey as an Au Pair and Nanny in your family.

Becoming an Au Pair is not just a job for me, it’s a meaningful way to connect, to help, and to grow. I’ve always had a deep love for children, and over the past five years, I’ve been lucky to work as a babysitter for families with kids of all ages. Each child I cared for gave me joy, laughter, and a sense of purpose. When I first moved to Germany, I had a similar experience as an Au Pair, and it gave me so much strength and confidence.

I don’t have a university degree, but I do have a lot of heart. Life hasn't always offered me traditional opportunities, but I’ve tried to make the most of every chance to help others and learn something new. One kind family I worked for even believed in me enough to offer me an internship in their company. That small act of trust changed my life, and I hope to find another family who sees something in me.

My husband and I both wish to move to Switzerland for a better future, and I want to support him with all my heart. Working as an Au Pair again would not only be a good first step, it would feel like a little light guiding us toward that dream. I truly enjoy being around children, and they usually seem to feel safe and happy with me. Every family I’ve worked with has given me warm and positive feedback, and I carry their kind words with me wherever I go.

I may not have the most impressive qualifications, but I have love, experience, and a genuine wish to bring a bit of warmth and help into your home. If you give me this opportunity, I promise to care for your children with patience, joy, and respect, as if they were part of my own family.

Experience

I've always felt a natural connection with children, and working as a babysitter for over five years has allowed me to turn that connection into something meaningful. I’ve taken care of children of all ages, and each experience has taught me patience, creativity, and how to bring calm and joy to a family’s daily life. Whether it’s helping with homework, organizing fun activities, or simply being a comforting presence, I always try to support both the child and the parents in the best way I can.

When I first moved to Germany from Italy, I worked as an Au Pair, and it was one of the most valuable experiences of my life. Living with a family, sharing responsibilities, and becoming part of their daily rhythm helped me grow not just professionally, but personally. I learned a lot about culture, communication, and trust.

Now, I would love to become an Au Pair and Nanny abroad again, this time in Switzerland. It would be a beautiful chance to continue doing what I love while helping my husband and I take the next step toward a better future.
