Letter to the family
Hello! My name is Flavio, and I’m a 23-year-old from France, born and raised just 15 minutes outside of Paris.
I grew up in a multicultural household with a French-Italian background, alongside my little brother and two loving parents. Being surrounded by both French and Italian cultures has definitely shaped who I am today—open-minded, curious, and passionate about discovering the world.
Since I was young, I’ve always had a deep love for traveling and exploring new places, landscapes, and cultures. Every year, I’d visit my family in the Italian countryside near Rome, and more recently, I’ve had the chance to travel further, especially to Asia. South Korea and Japan completely stole my heart—I’ve been twice to each, and I’m already planning my third trips! These countries impressed me with their peaceful atmosphere, strong traditions, delicious food, and deep respect for others. As a photographer, Japan especially was a dream, and traveling there helped me rediscover my passion for photography.
This love for discovery and cultural exchange is what brought me to consider becoming an au pair. Since September 2024, I’ve been working as a teaching assistant in a high school, and I’ve realized how much I enjoy sharing knowledge, giving advice, and supporting both younger and older students. I love talking and telling stories—but just as much, I love listening, learning from others, and hearing about people’s lives and experiences. I find great joy in connecting with others and seeing the world from different perspectives.
Now, a bit about my passions:
Photography has been with me since childhood. My mom had a camera I used to "borrow" all the time—whether at home or on holidays, I photographed everything I saw. My dad passed on his love for football, which I played for 15 years (and still do for fun with friends!). At the same time, I was also a swimmer for 18 years. My studies led me to a high school diploma in Economics and Social Sciences, and then to a degree in English and Italian language and culture (LLCER).
But during the pandemic, I started to rethink everything. That long pause helped me reconnect with my creative side. After working alongside graphic designers for three months, I realized how much I missed creating. That’s when I enrolled in a school for Creation and Design, where I completed a 3-year degree and earned a Bachelor’s in Digital Project Management. During that time, I also rediscovered my passion for photography—especially during my first trip to Japan.
Since then, photography has become a huge part of my life again. Whether it’s capturing daily moments, styled photoshoots, street life, nature, or architecture—my camera is always with me, just like when I was a kid. It’s helped me meet amazing people, embrace the little joys of life again, and get through the post-COVID blues.
Today, I’m looking to continue this beautiful journey, combining my love for cultural exchange, education, and creativity by becoming an au pair. I believe this experience would be the perfect next chapter in my story.
Thanks for taking the time to read a bit about me!
Looking forward to meeting you soon!
