Letter to the family

My name is Josephine, and I’m someone who’s deeply passionate about education and caring for children. After graduating from Princeton, I spent the past year working in K–8 education, where I co-founded an after-school education center with my dad. We built a program focused on holistic learning—offering kids opportunities to explore art, dance, music, coding, robotics, and hands-on experiential learning.

I want to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor because I love supporting children’s growth both academically and emotionally, and I’m excited about the chance to build meaningful relationships within a family setting. I see this as a unique way to be part of a child’s everyday life, offering stability, warmth, and creativity while also sharing in cultural exchange.

You should host me because I bring a strong sense of responsibility, lots of experience with kids, and genuine care. I’m adaptable, kind, and I love creating fun, enriching experiences for children. With my educational background and hands-on work in child-centered learning, I’m confident I can offer real support as both a tutor and a nurturing presence in your home.

Experience

I’ve spent the past year working closely with K–8 students after starting an after-school education center with my dad. Our program focuses on holistic education—offering art, dance, music, coding, robotics, and hands-on, experiential learning. I’ve supported kids both academically and emotionally, and I’ve found so much joy in being a steady, creative, and caring presence in their lives.

I would love to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor abroad because it brings together many of the things I care most about: working with children, teaching, and discovering new cultures. I love to travel and explore new environments—I've backpacked extensively through South America and Southeast Asia, and I spent time living at an ashram in India to study yoga and meditation. These experiences taught me how to adapt, listen, and connect across languages and cultures.

Living with a host family while supporting a child’s growth and learning feels like a beautiful way to continue that journey—by offering care, structure, and warmth to a family while learning from them in return.
