Hi!

My name is Melissa, I'm 27, and I'm a native French speaker from Marseille, in Provence. I have a French Master’s degree in Early and Elementary Education, as well as a special degree to teach French as a Foreign or Second Language to children and adults. I've been an Au Pair for two years with a family on the Upper East Side, in NYC. I took care of two boys, aged 11 and 13, and helped them learn French, as their mother is French. A particularly gratifying part of my work as an au pair has been using my educational skills to teach my host family’s two boys French and seeing their spoken and written French improve significantly with me. I am seeing them grow into confident and independent adults and take pride in knowing I had a part in this. Plus, being their Au Pair was such an amazing experience for me; we shared many moments, trying out new activities and had a lot of fun together.

During my free time, I like to run. I registered for the Brooklyn Half Marathon in April. I'm currently in a bowling league, and in spring, I like playing softball. I also love seeing musicals on Broadway. I try reading, drawing and playing guitar when I can too. I love learning and discovering new things, and I'm sure we can find something that we both love. Travelling and hiking are a big part of my life! I have been to many US national parks, and I've travelled around Europe by train. During the summer, I will be in Iceland, on a van trip with my friends.
