Hi! My name is Abagail but I like to be known as AJ.
I want to become an Au Pair as my career so far has been within education and I am passionate about shaping young peoples lives. I truly believe that there is so much value to be found in life away from screens and technology. I have a wide range of hobbies, non of which I am an expert in but I think that the beauty of not being an expert is that you engage in them purely for enjoyment rather than to gain a product/ result at the end. I am a big believer in 'its all about the journey, not the destination', this is something that I carry with me day to day in my personal life. With all that in mind, I like to try and engage in activities that bring me to the present moment, these include both indoor and outdoor pursuit's.
A candidate should host me as I like to believe I am fairly good at cooking. I know for sure that I am a clean and organised person. I have travelled to many counties: Scotland, Wales, Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, Malta, Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, Austria, Nepal, Thailand, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Canada and several states within the USA. Moreover, I spent 3 years living in Germany as a teenager and I worked in the USA for 3 months. I think that my experience with travel has exposed me to a lot of culture and a wide range of perspectives. Overall this had made me a very thoughtful and compassionate person.
Aside from all of the travel and home skills, I have been moving towards developing my skills in education for five years now. I have a degree in Primary Education from Durham University, which at the time was the third best university in the UK! I have worked as an outdoor activity instructor for three separate companies and I currently work as a progress tutor in a college delivering lessons on life skills.
