Letter to the family

I have had a lot of babysitting experience as I have many younger siblings who I have taken care of. I also used to be a childminder for a family friend’s two young girls. I did that for about three years, they were three and five by the time I left them. I also have a three year old nephew and a one year old niece who I have always helped look after since they were both born. My nephew is also non verbal ASD, so I have learnt a lot more about that and how to look after a child who has special needs. I speak English fluently, but I am keen to learn new languages and about different cultures.

Experience

I have had experience with looking after children from the ages newborn to 14 years. I have four younger siblings who I used take care of. I would pick them up from school, make their food and ensure they were bathed and ready for bed. I also used to take care of two girls every other weekend for my friends mother, which also included making bottles and food, changing nappies, and getting them to sleep and in bed on time. I look after my niece and nephew a lot too when my brother and sister need me to. I also worked in a pre-school for a couple of months, so I have some experience in an actual childcare setting.
