Hello! My name is Rylann, I am 21 years old and currently living in the U.S. I love nature and experiencing everything it has to offer, I enjoy educating myself and others about the world surrounding us. Part of the reason I am interested in becoming an au pair is because I want to see the world. Not just by traveling but by meeting new people and learning from their cultures. This past summer (2024) I worked at a summer camp through the YMCA in the U.S. I worked with ages from 6-17. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and taught me so many valuable skills I carry with me. It was the first time I had been formally hired to work with children (I had only babysat beforehand), and it taught me I have a new passion. That is to create a safe environment for children to experience joy, help them learn and to grow, and to be a role model. After the summer camp ended I went to work for the YMCA afterschool program. It's basically a program that is a daycare with underlying educational activities. I am now working at a café/bakery as cooking is another one of my passions. I have been cooking/baking since I was 4 years old! I love to make healthy and nutritious meals, that not only taste great but look beautiful! I also can speak/understand Spanish. I am nowhere near fluent but I have grown up around Spanish speakers my whole life, In these past couple years I've specifically been putting myself in situations where I am able to learn more and I hope to be fluent within the next couple years. I also have a elementary understanding of Japanese.
