I have just finished high school in Australia and I am taking a gap year in 2025 to gain more life experience and to give myself some more time to decide what I would like to do at university etc.

I am 18, I live at home with my parents and two big friendly dogs. I have an older brother and sister who have both moved out of home but I keep in regular contact with them. I live on a bush block, 20 minutes out of a small city, called Orange, in rural New South Wales.

I enjoy being around children so I think au pairing is suitable for me. I have limited prior experience working with children, however I am keen to try new things and to help out a family who need an extra pair of hands. I am organised, responsible and proactive so I think I would suit a busy family lifestyle. I love spending time outside, going for walks, picnics or spending time at the beach. I may seem somewhat timid when I first meet people but after getting to know someone, I can be outgoing and I love to have a laugh.
I have to admit, I have no special talents...I am not at all musical and you could hardly call me coordinated but I enjoy playing sports as a way to socialise and stay active.

I am a native English speaker and I have studied French for six or seven years so I have decent knowledge of French too (I actually spent two months in France on exchange).
In terms of house chores, I regularly cook for my family, do the washing, clean bathrooms, my own room and communal areas so I am more than willing to help out around the house in my host family.
I have my drivers license in Australia and have been driving for two and a half years. I have driven in the country, in cities and on small roads so I am confident in driving most places.

I eat almost anything, I love fruits and vegetables although there are a few that I would rather not eat (if they are served to me I would still eat them!). I don't eat much meat and would be willing to fit into other dietary requirements, eg. vegan/vegetarian.
I value my private space so I would love to be able to have my own room and bathroom, but it is not a game changer.
