Letter to the family

Hello future family!

My name is Alexandra (or Lexy) and I'm 19 years old from England. I want to be an Au Pair or a nanny for a variety of reasons. I understand the hardships of both being a new parent and an experienced parent, as watching my younger family members grow up, or friends of family with children, I understood from a younger age how difficult and tiring it can be. Having a child is a wonderful thing, but even the toughest of people need a break. My dream is to work with children, as a couple of months in college studying childcare I had to drop out and go straight into work due to circumstances at home, and it will forever be my biggest regret, as taking care of and shaping young minds is something I truly believe I was made for. I have a lot of affection for children, and I would love the opportunity. I believe I should be hosted because I am patient, clean and tidy, flexible, and have experience in (non payed) babysitting, and caring for my elderly nana who has dementia for a number of years (from when I was 13-17 years old), and these experiences have made me mature, patient, and have a deeper level of understanding for the proper case a human needs. I have a good temperament, a social and outgoing personality, and i'm very easy to get along with. I am fluent and clear in my speech, and I would be more than happy to help a young one be too.

I believe if you gave me a chance, you certainly wouldn't regret it!

Experience

I have unfortunately not had the pleasure of being an Au pair. I am looking for the wonderful experience of being one, and meeting new people and experiencing different ways of life, routine, rules, etc. Working and living in America in general is something i've always been interested in, and given the opportunity, I think I would fit right with whoever my host family is.
