Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

It is a pleasure to write to you!

My name is Sarah, I am from Brazil and I am ready to be your next Au Pair!

I am from Osasco, state of Sao Paulo, where I used to live with my mom Andréa and our kitten. I loved living there and was there all my life and I have amazing memories.
Now days I live in Andover, Massachusetts USA it's been almost 2 years, I also doing the au pair program and I have a great host family.

I am a very communicative, funny, sympathetic and I am very dedicated in everything I decide to do. In my free time I like reading, watching series, hiking and visiting new places, like museums, the theater or libraries. I like to go out to eat, walk at the park, ride a bike and take pictures of everything new I see on my way. I am also a very good driver and I can cook really well, which means I am very happy to offer high quality care to your children!

I come from a very lovely, warm and kind family. Between my brother and I, there has never been lack of equality and we do not judge each other’s opinions or preferences. About my parents, the greatest lesson I learnt from them was to be independent, tolerant and to not have prejudice against something new and different from my traditions – this must be why I am always open to know different people and cultures other than my own. In my life there is no room for any kind of prejudice, intolerance or lack of empathy.
My mom and I are best friends since I was a little girl. She is a teacher, so she teaches my brother and I many things since we were kids. About my brother, his name is Guilherme and he is also one of my best friends, even though he is 10 years older than me. He is married to Bianca, who is a veterinarian, and I could not wish for a better sister-in-law. They live in a house with two cats and two dogs and sometimes after work I love to spend some time at their place. My sister-in-law stays out for work all day and my brother does home office, so when I go there, we talk a lot and he plays the guitar for me. I love listening to him playing the guitar!
My parents are divorced, but I also have a good relationship with my father. His name is Marcos and he is my superhero! He works in a church. We spend most of the weekends together, when we go to parks, restaurants, the movies or to my grandma’s house. It’s also when I help him with some church projects to take care of the children in the community.

I have always had contact with children and their activities, because my mom is a primary school teacher, and she asks for my help since I was a little girl. I still help her these days, when she needs to prepare the activities, revise the tests and help the kids with specials events at the school.

When I was young she used to take me to her classes and I always watched them and helped to take care of the children. She teaches kids from 6 to 10-year old, and I love kids with those ages, but I also love the little ones. Once I took care of a group of children from 1 to 3 years old, and I did an amazing job with them. We created a project where they could use the senses and create art and other things. They really enjoyed the activities.

My first experience in taking care of a child was with the daughter of my friend Valkiria, Beatriz.
I fell in love with Beatriz since I saw her for the first time. I used to take care of her on the weekends. My routine with her was to drive to parks or to the cinema. Sometimes i also did her laundry, cooked her meals, gave her baths and helped with anything her mom needed about her. We still have a wonderful time together, and she and her mother truly became my family as well!
I love to see Beatriz growing up and how she discovers the world, new flavors, new animals and how she changes "what she wants to be when she grows up" every day. Last week she said she would be a princess, and now she wants to be an artist! I support every idea she has, and now we do craft work anytime we have a chance. We play with glue, different papers, paint, color pencils and lots of glitter!
I also took care of Guilherme and Ana, who are siblings and their mother unfortunately had cancer, so they spent the weekends with me. Guilherme is a thirteen-year-old boy, with a strong and admirable personality. We have a lot of fun, he talks to me about everything and really trusts me. He is a quiet boy, but open to have a conversation with whoever gives him the opportunity. Ana is a gorgeous ten-year-old girl and she always asks me to paint with my watercolor whenever she was at my house. I made their meals and they enjoyed helping me in the kitchen when I was cooking.

I also have a lot of other experiences and great references as you can see in my Au Pair Profile.

Thank you for reading my letter!
My best wishes,
Sarah
