Letter to the family

Hello! I'm Nicola (or Nic), I'm 23 years old and I am an English Language Assistant in Paris (from September 2024-May 2025). In July 2023, I graduated with a 1st class honours degree in French and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from university in Nottingham, England. During my degree, I completed a year abroad living in the Alps working as an English Language Assistant in 3 primary schools. Currently, I teach English online via Preply to a mixture of both children and adults! I love spending time with children - reading books, playing games, helping them learn new skills and seeing their progress is a very rewarding experience. In summer 2021, I was an au pair for a family in Haute-Savoie and loved the experience and immersing myself in French culture.

I would love to find somewhere to live in Paris and in exchange help your children with English homework and you as well to improve your conversational English if needed!

Experience

In summer 2021, I was an au pair in France for 2 months with a lovely family who I found on AuPairWorld too! Last year I also completed 10 months working as a English Language Assistant in primary schools in France so I am familiar with the French schooling system. I've also worked as a babysitter from the age of 16-18 for my singing teacher's son where I would cook for him, play with him, help him with homework and get him ready for bed in evenings and at weekends. I have also been a leader at scouts for two years and a young leader for four years prior to that, where i would look after the 10-14 year olds and teach them new skills such as knots, orienteering, water skills and life skills.
