Letter to the family
Hello!
My name is Philippe, I’m 25 years old, proudly French, and currently on the lookout for my next big adventure, which I’m hoping will be with you! I’ve spent the last year living in New Jersey, where I worked as a research scientist, diving into exciting projects. But while science has been a big part of my life, I’ve realized that what truly lights me up is connecting with people, sharing experiences, and especially working with kids.
That’s why I want to become an au pair. I love the energy and honesty that children bring into every moment. Over the years, I’ve been the go-to babysitter for my sister’s little boy—my awesome nephew—so I’ve learned the ropes: bedtime routines, storytime voices, last-minute snack cravings, spontaneous dance-offs... you name it, we’ve done it. Being there for him made me realize how much I enjoy being a positive, caring influence in a child’s day-to-day life.
You might be wondering why you should host me. Well, I bring a unique mix to the table: I’m responsible and proactive, thanks to my scientific background, but also warm, adaptable, and fun. I’m fluent in both French and English, so I can easily communicate and even help your kids learn a new language if you'd like! I’m also trained in self-defense, so you can feel extra confident that your kids are in safe, capable hands—both emotionally and physically.
And did I mention I love to cook? Whether it’s a classic French dish like boeuf bourguignon, some light and fluffy crêpes, or even a creative “let’s-clean-out-the-fridge” dinner, I’m always up for turning mealtime into something delicious. I believe food brings people together, and I’d love to share that with your family.
So, why do I qualify for the position? I’ve got real-life experience caring for children, I’m calm under pressure (science labs and toddlers both teach you that), and I truly care about creating a safe, joyful environment for your little ones. I’m here not just to help, but to become part of the family, share cultures, and make memories we’ll all carry with us.
If you’re looking for someone who’s fun, reliable, easy to live with, and always ready to jump into a game, help with homework, or whip up something tasty in the kitchen—I’d love to meet you.
Looking forward to getting to know you!
Warmly,
Philippe
