Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Stella, and I am searching for a host family in Paris for the 2025-2026 school year. My current host family will no longer need an au pair next year, but I want to continue my adventure here!

I have been living in France since fall 2023. I first came here as an English teaching assistant through TAPIF, the Teaching Assistant Program in France. At the end of my teaching contract, I decided to become an au pair. During this past year, I have been looking after two children, ages 9 and 12, and it has been a very enriching experience.

I grew up in California (near Los Angeles). I received my Bachelor's degree in Illustration. Art is one of my greatest passions, so it would be a big plus to work with a family who has artistic hobbies/values creativity.

As I have already been living here for nearly two years, I am very autonomous. Spending time with and getting to know my future host family is very important to me, but so is having sufficient independence to pursue my outside goals, hobbies, and relationships.

Mutual respect and communication are key!

Experience

My responsibilities with my current host family include picking up the children after school, making sure they do their homework, some housekeeping, and often preparing dinner. On Wednesdays, I look after them all day. I also frequently manage the pick-up and/or drop off for their extracurricular activities. When we have free time together (i.e., no homework or chores to do!), we play board games, go to the park, and sometimes work on art projects. In short, I do a bit of everything at the moment, so I will be pretty adaptable to the needs of my future host family. I only ask that we communicate in advance regarding deviations to the regular schedule! Of course, life can be unpredictable, so I do my best to be flexible should my help be needed unexpectedly.
