Letter to the family
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to care for and nurture children, even if it was only my baby doll at the time. As I grew up a bit and took a babysitting course, my parents then allowed me to watch over my younger siblings and trusted me enough to leave me home alone with them. The day a close friend of my parents called looking for someone to babysit their little ones was one of the best days of my life. From that day, I have not stopped being a childcare provider and for the last three years, I have had the pleasure of caring for four of the sweetest little siblings since I was a young teenager. I will admit, children can be difficult at times, but the joy far outweighs any negative aspect. Dirty diapers, spit up, and muddy clothes have never bothered me, they are reminders of the beautiful beings that make up the next generation. I want to become an Au Pair because of my love of childcare and my desire to be a help in the homes of parents that could use a hand. I may not be a parent myself, but a piece of my heart lies with each of the four kids I have helped raise. In three years, I have seen so much development in the people that these kids are becoming. When I look back on old pictures, I see just how much we have all grown up and it brings me such joy to know the impact that we have shared in each others lives. My hope is that in seeing my profile, it will be made clear just how much I care. I want to be a presence that brings love and peace into the home, someone that makes doing life easier, to be a blessing. To find a family that would host me as their au pair would be such a great gift and an incredible opportunity to explore a new part of the world. As for my qualifications for the position of an au pair, I have had a lot of experience over the years. Like I mentioned early, I have babysat/nannied for the same family for the past three years. I have cooked, cleaned, changed diapers, and encouraged children to be creative and not give up easily. I have had to deal with sibling conflict and help the children work through fights on their own, guiding them to make peace. But if I am honest, by far my favourite part of this job, is caring for babies and watching them grow up into little humans. I have always held a special place in my heart for infants, they are beyond incredible. They really are the beauty in life. It is true that the mental load of caring for children can be tough, but when you really take a step back, you realize that the smiles, the giggles and the delight make it all worth it.
