Letter to the family

Hello host families!!!

My name is Ashleen, hopefully you will know me as your kid's bestfriend and someone that can be there for your family as an older sister. I am 18 but please dont be scared of my age as I grew up mostly around younger kids as I am an older sister and the oldest of 8 cousins in my family. I have previous childcare experience working with a range of kids from 3 - 5 years old and loved every second of it. I have previously studied many courses and have knowledge in Childcare, Community Services, Nursing, Psychology and Healthcare. I have many experiences in working with kids as I have worked in kindergartens, Children's therapy centers and have been a volunteer in family camps (MSWA).

Experience

In the past 2 years I have been completing work experience in a kindergarten with kids aged 3-5 years old fillimg in the role of an Assistant teacher and have been completing work experience at Skill Builders Childrens Therapy where I worked with kids from all walks of life who suffer from neurological issues or behavioural issues, teaching them how live with these issues useing evidence based skills and knowledge. I have also been babysitting childrwn (6 months old - 10 years old) since I was 13 years old and have watched them grow up into smart and adventurous kids. I also have alot of experience in working with families as I volunteered in multiple family camps through (MSWA MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS WESTERN AUSTRALIA). In this camp I worked with multiple kids with a wide age difference and took care of them daily from 8am-8pm entertaining them with hands on activities like making playdough, playing board games, making popstick houses and so much more.

My experience with kids have always been postive which is why I know that I absolutely love working with kids!!?? Even in the negative ones where kids will be kids, I belive there are ways to talk and deal with these issues whilst still being kind, loving, caring and respectful to them ❤️
