Dear Host Family,

My name is Léa, and I am thrilled to be writing to you today to apply for a position as an au pair. I am 19 years old and come from the south of France. I have always had a strong interest in discovering new cultures, as well as a love for working with children. I’ve had experience as a youth activity leader during school holidays, and I hold a BTS in Tourism. This position represents a unique opportunity for me to create meaningful connections, share precious moments, and experience the daily life of a family like yours in another country.

I would love to become an au pair because I want to immerse myself in a warm family environment while having the chance to live an enriching personal and cultural experience. Taking care of children, watching them grow, and helping them develop are all very meaningful to me. My goal is to provide support, offer fun and educational activities, and ensure their safety and well-being.

I believe I would be a great fit for your family due to my kindness, patience, and reliability. I always strive to understand the needs and expectations of others, which allows me to adapt easily. Additionally, I am organized and responsible—two important qualities when caring for children. I am also open-minded and curious, ready to adapt to your household customs and share my own with you.

Experience

My experience with children qualifies me for this role. I have had the opportunity to look after my younger brother and, for several years now, I have worked with children as an activity leader during school holidays at day camps and campsites. I have obtained my BAFA (Brevet d’Aptitude aux Fonctions d’Animateur) and first aid certification (PSC1), which has helped me develop group management skills and creativity in planning activities.
I am also proficient in languages and am eager to improve my English. I speak Spanish at a B1 level and Italian at an A1 level, which could be helpful in supporting your children’s language learning while also allowing me to improve my skills.
