Letter to the family

My name is Caley, and I’m writing to express my genuine excitement about the opportunity to become your Au Pair and Live-in Tutor. I'm originally from the desert city of Phoenix, Arizona, and I’ll be graduating from college this May. As I approach this new chapter of life, I’m eager to explore more of the world, connect with new people, and grow through meaningful cultural exchange.

A little about me—I'm someone who truly enjoys the simple joys of life. I love reading all kinds of books, going on peaceful walks (especially when the weather’s nice!), and trying new foods. I find joy in learning about people and their cultures, and I believe that living with a host family is one of the most rewarding and authentic ways to do that.

The reason I want to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor is simple: I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping them grow. I’ve worked in childcare for several years, including as a summer camp counselor where I was responsible for supervising and caring for groups of over 20 kids. I've also worked as a personal babysitter, building trust with families and forming great relationships with the kids I looked after. These experiences have taught me not just responsibility, but also how to be creative, patient, and adaptable in different situations.

I believe I’d be a great fit for your family because I bring a calm, flexible, and easy-going personality into any space I enter. I am respectful of others’ homes and routines, and I do my best to be helpful and considerate. I also take pride in being dependable—someone you can count on to be there for your children, to support their daily routines, and to be a positive influence in their lives.

Thank you so much for considering me. I would be honored to become a part of your home and family, and I truly look forward to the opportunity to learn from you, share my own background, and make meaningful memories together.

Warmest regards,
Caley

Experience

While I haven’t officially worked as an Au Pair or Live-in Tutor yet, I do have strong experience working with children in both group and one-on-one settings. I’ve been a summer camp counselor, where I was responsible for supervising, entertaining, and caring for over 20 children at a time. I’ve also worked as a personal babysitter, which allowed me to build close relationships with the kids and their families, helping with everything from schoolwork to bedtime routines.

I want to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor abroad because I truly enjoy working with children and believe this is a meaningful way to combine my passion for childcare with my desire to experience life in a new culture. I’m excited by the idea of becoming part of a family, learning their traditions, and sharing my own. It’s a unique opportunity to grow personally while contributing positively to a child’s daily life and development.
