Letter to the family

Hi!

I'm Aurore, from France / Switzerland and I'm looking for a host family near the Redcliffe Peninsula in QLD (max 30min drive away) where both my boyfriend and I will be welcomed. My boyfriend (born and raised in Australia) is going back to school in January to get his commercial helicopter pilot license which is the reason why we're moving to Queensland and looking for an au pair family. As my boyfriend will be studying, I'll be the only one taking care of the kids and helping around the house.
I would love to really be part of the family and if your family enjoys camping, outdoor sports and exploring their backyard then that would be a dream as I wish to keep discovering your beautiful country before to head back to Switzerland.

I'm an outdoorsy girl and I enjoy almost every sports and activities that involve being outdoor and / or among nature. I'm a keen horse-rider and I have my own horse back home. Travelling is also a very important part of my life.
My boyfriend enjoys surfing, bodyboarding and diving. He's happy to go hiking, kayaking or camping and is always keen to follow me on a new adventure.
He's really good at cooking whereas I'm more in charge of the dessert as I enjoy baking cakes or pastries every now and then. We are both non smokers and rarely drink although we can sometimes enjoy a beer with our friends. We occasionally go out on romantic dinners or with our friends but don't really enjoy late nights anymore.

I have a bachelor in management from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and I'm about to finish my master degree.
I always worked beside my studies, mostly as a research assistant for one of my professors and as an accounting and economics teacher for two different private schools in Switzerland. I had students ranging between 14 years old kids (middle school) up to young adults studying commercial apprenticeships.
I also did some baby-sitting here and there during my first years of university (including some when I was living in Gold Coast).
My most recent experience with kids concerns my boyfriend's young sister (turning 12 in November). My responsibilities include school drop off and pickup, helping her with her homework, baking cakes and Anzac biscuits together, trying out gymnastics or even jewellery making... I am also teaching her the basics of horse-riding (they have a horse on the property).

I also have my own car and a NSW driving licence.

If you think that I would be the right au pair for your lovely family, just send me a message so we can get to know each other a little bit more.

See you soon!

Experience

For a start I am the oldest of three siblings and as such I was often taking care of my younger sister and brother when our parents had to work late or be absent for a few hours.
I also did some baby-sitting here and there during my first years of university (including some when I was living in Gold Coast).
More recently, I was working part-time as an accounting and economics teacher for private schools in Switzerland while studying my master degree. I had students ranging between 14 years old kids (middle school) up to young adults studying commercial apprenticeships.
My most recent experience concerns my boyfriend's younger sister. As I am studying online and finishing to write my master thesis, I am the one taking care of her when her mum is working. My responsibilities include school drop off and pickup, helping her with her homework, baking cakes and Anzac biscuits together, trying out gymnastics or even jewellery making... As I have a horse back home, I am also teaching her the basics of horse-riding (they have a horse on the property). And I ignitated a weekly visit to our local library so she can borrow books and movies.

My boyfriend has a lot of experience taking care of his younger brother and sister. He is 6 years older than his brother and 14 years older than his young sister. Since their mum was single and the only one to have custody of the kids, my boyfriend had to help quite a lot when she was at work with babysitting for his siblings or even cooking for the whole family.
