Hallo! My name is Adriana García, I’m 21yo and from Piura, a city in northern Peru. I study laws and live a very active and creative life. Since 2021, I’ve practiced triathlon — swimming, cycling, and running — and I’ve helped organize sports events, including bike races for kids and triathlons for adults, also doing graphic design for those.

My entire life I’ve expressed myself through art — painting, writing, and photography. In February last year, I met Leonie from Jesuit Volunteers. We became close friends when we realized we loved going to the theater and art expos. I joined her several times at CANAT, where she spent time with children from vulnerable backgrounds in Nuevo Gredal, Piura. Together, we used painting, games, and storytelling to help kids express what they feel. I learned that when children are given a safe space, creativity becomes a language — and through art, they can talk about what they feel, even if they don’t have the right words yet.

I want to become an Au Pair because I believe in human connection. I’m not looking to just visit Germany — I want to share life with a family, be part of something meaningful, and keep growing alongside the children. I’ve had the chance to work and spend time with German volunteers who became close friends during their gap year. Today, they are studying in Berlin, and I’d love for them to show me their city just like I once did back in Peru — while doing something I love.

I adapt easily and enjoy structure. I’m calm, empathetic, organized, and curious. I genuinely care about helping kids feel seen and supported — because that’s the kind of adult I would have loved to have close by while growing up.
