Hello family!
My name is Karen, I am 29 years old, born in São Paulo, Brazil, and currently live in Porto, Portugal. I have dual nationality: Brazilian and Portuguese.
I graduated in Psychology in December 2018, presenting a thesis with top marks on the topic "The Importance of Play Therapy for Children in Palliative Care". Soon after, I completed my postgraduate degree in Analytical Clinical Psychology - Jungian Approach and successfully graduated in September 2020.
I currently work as an online Clinical Psychologist outside of business hours, and during business hours I am a recruiter for the German market at a multinational company here in Portugal.
I really like children and I feel this reciprocity from them. I am a very patient and empathetic person and I believe that my experience in clinical psychology is a bonus for working in the family context. I am interested in getting to know new countries and cultures and I recently visited Switzerland and Germany, which are two countries that I love. I have family living in Switzerland and close friends in Germany, so I want to improve my German level.
In addition to my native Portuguese, I speak English and Spanish at a C1 level and have been studying German daily for 9 months. I also have basic knowledge of Dutch.
When you host me, in addition to having someone with a professional background in the field of mental health, you will also have a sociable and attentive person who always tries to give the best of themselves. I am also very organized, I follow the KonMari method of organization in my personal life and I am very responsible.
I believe that I qualify for the position not only because of my professional and academic resume, but also because of my soft skills and my great desire to have this experience abroad as an au pair.
