Letter to the family

Hello!

My name is Liza, and I hail from the beautiful island of Mauritius, nestled in the Indian Ocean. If you haven't heard of it yet, I encourage you to look it up — it's truly a little gem that I’m fortunate to call home. I am a national beach volleyball player who, after facing numerous challenges, has decided to explore the world in search of a new purpose beyond my love for sports. As a solo traveler who has recently experienced bits and pieces of Europe, I now feel ready to settle down and immerse myself fully in the local culture by integrating into the daily lives of its people.

Experience

The Au Pair position seems perfectly aligned with my goals, as it offers a unique opportunity for complete immersion within a host family, something I am eager to experience. Back in Mauritius, I’m a proud aunt to six nieces and nephews and a great-aunt to two more. I’ve cherished every moment spent caring for them, especially during their early years, and I look forward to bringing these nurturing skills to your family.

Beyond childcare, I have a deep passion for languages. I am a native French speaker and have been fluent in English since my primary school days, continuing through to university. My love for languages led me to study Spanish privately throughout high school, where I achieved a Grade A and ranked 4th at the national level in the Cambridge International O Level examinations in 2008 and a Grade C at A Level with Merit in Speaking in 2013. My recent travels in Europe have also given me a basic grasp of conversational Bulgarian and refreshed my German vocabulary from a brief study period over a decade ago. Drawing on this language proficiency and my experience tutoring two young French girls during their vacation in Mauritius a few years ago, I am confident in my ability to offer high-quality language tutoring, as well as support in other subjects.
