Letter to the family

Hi, my name is Amalie! I’m a 16 year old girl
from Norway, turning 17 in the summer. I’m an independent, responsible and caring person who loves taking care of children. I have babysitting experience, especially with my three baby cousins. I enjoy helping kids learn, grow and have fun.

I want to become an au pair because I want to experience a different culture, meet new people and gain valuable life experiences. Living with a host family would be a great opportunity for me to experience a new place while also doing something meaningful. I am taking a gap year off school, and I want to make the most of my time by doing something meaningful and growth-oriented.

I am a well traveled person, and can speak English , making communication easy. I’m respectful of house rules, adapt quickly, and truly hope to be a helpful and positive addition to the family. I’d love the opportunity to help take care of children and to be apart of a welcoming home.

Experience

Although I haven’t yet been a au pair, I have some experience with babysitting my three cousins. This has allowed me to gain some experience in taking care of children. Through this, I’ve developed my skills in caring for children, including keeping them entrained, playing with them, taking them to the playground, preparing meals, and putting them to bed.

I’m interested in becoming an au pair abroad because I’m eager to experience life in a different country, immerse myself in a new culture and meet new people. I see this as an opportunity to challenge myself, grow, and gain life experiences while contributing to a family in a meaningful way.
