Kaja (19 / Ms. ), German, Babysitter living in Germany looking for Au Pair job in Ireland & Norway for 4-6 months

Dear host family,

First of all Iwant to thank you for reading my letter and giving me the opportunity to spend a few months with you.
My name is Kaja and i am turning 19 this month. I live with my twin brother Jan and my parents in a small town in the south of germany in Baden-Württemberg. In July 2020 i finished school with my A-levels. After my experiences as an Au pair I would like to go to university and study to become a primary school teacher because I love working with children.
In the course of getting my driver lisence I also took part at a first aid course in which they also taught us first aid for children and babies. I got my driver liscence in May 2019 and I drive almost every day.
I would describe myself as openminded, polite and helpful. I always try to stay positive and have a plan B when something doesn´t work as I imagine.
In my free time I like to spend time with my friends and family, I like being outside or doing sports especially dancing. In winter I like to go skiing, that´s why I always used to go to skiing holiday with my whole family.
Since I finished school, I have been working in a kindergarten, which was really great and a lot of fun for me. Of couse I also was able to collect a lot of experience with children, in this half year. I worked there with two kindergarten teachers in a group of 20 children from ages 2 to 6. We played a lot, inside as well as outside, we ate breakfast together and I helped them to dress when we were going outside for example. Furthermore I gained experience with kids trough babysitting, which I have been doing since the babysitting course I took in 2018. I did a lot of things together with the kids, like playing games, painting or reading out books. I helped putting them to bed or making dinner.
Finally let me answer the essential question: Why do I want to become an Au pair? The simplest answer is: I love children. I love to see them smiling, their shining eyes and their happiness when they learn something new. Besides I would like to improve my english skills and it would be great to become more independent and self-confident during my time as an Au pair. In addition I hope to increase my experience in childcare for my dream to become a primary school teacher.
