Letter to the family

My name is Alisa, I am a 22-year-old from Latvia, but I have been living abroad for over 7 years. I have completed my bachelor's degree in Poland, Warsaw, and then took a gap year to volunteer in Slovenia at a kindergarten. That is where I gained most of my experience working with kids, and have also learned that this is something I thoroughly enjoy doing. I also have a younger brother, who is now 10 years old, so some of my experience also comes from babysitting him.

One of the main reasons I would like to become an Au Pair is that I enjoy working with kids. It is a very rewarding job, not just because I get to do fun activities with the kids, such as arts and crafts, sports, or reading books, but also because it is amazing to earn their trust and hear them talk about something they really like, like dinosaurs, or Barbies, or the space. And it is equally as awesome to get to teach the kids something new, like a language, in a fun entertaining way, and consequently hear them attempt to say certain words or phrases or sing songs outside of the studying time.

You should choose me if you are looking for an Au Pair who is artistic, knows multiple languages, can be left alone with a child to give you time to relax, or get things done, and who also respects boundaries. I can come up with fun projects for the child, not just routine taking-care-of, I play the guitar and sing (quite well), know a lot of folk and fairytales by heart (thanks to my experience working at the kindergarten), and I am also quite sporty.

Experience

The main reason I want to become an Au Pair or a Live-in Tutor is because I want to live abroad while simultaneously being immersed in the culture through the family with whom I would live. Working with kids gives you that direct feeling of being part of the local community, as well as a feel of what the culture is like through the kids' eyes.
Working with kids also means being very active, and it is a dynamic environment, which is something I really appreciate.
