Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Henry. I am a 25 year old American from a suburb of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I’m excited to experience another culture, learn a new language, as well as bring value to a new community; and I am thrilled at the opportunity to join your family as an Au Pair. I believe I have the dedication and responsibility needed for caring for people of all ages.

I’ve worked at summer camps that specialized in teaching children art and music. I was one of the children's favorite camp counselors, since I always went the extra mile to connect with them. For example, I would tutor children in drum set, and play board games with them during my break times. Since it was a camp focused on creativity, sometimes children with mild special needs would attend. I learned a lot about de-escalating meltdowns and attending to more sensitive children's needs. I know how important it is for people under your care to be safe and happy. I am a calm presence, and good company. Taking care of others and enriching people’s lives is something that brings me joy.

I am a creative person in general. I love art, music, reading, fashion, film, and all modes of self expression. My parents are both educators, and I would sit in on my dad’s drawing classes when I was younger. I have worked a lot of different jobs to support myself, but I hope to make money doing art one day.

I can assist with light household tasks and meal preparation. I also have a driver’s license and pride myself on my safe driving, although I believe I will need to get an International Driving Permit while I am there. I am fluent in English, and in the very beginning stages of learning French, so I intend to take language classes while I’m there.

This will be my first time being an Au Pair. I hope to share my own background as well as build lasting relationships. I would love to discuss how I can best support your family and contribute positively to your household.
