Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Celeste (Cece) and I would love to be an au pair for you!
I am currently working as a before and after school caretaker at my local Montessori school and have a passion for working with kids. It has been a dream all my life to move to Berlin because of the rich music and art scene, networking opportunities, and beautiful landmarks. I chose Berlin specifically to connect with my German roots, as my family moved here in the 1800s and lost much of it in the process.
I specifically chose the path of becoming an Au Pair because of my passion for childcare. The children I have worked with over the past thirteen years in this field have all been so special to me. I find it incredible to see kids learn and foster creativity, kindness, and positive problem solving. The more I have looked into becoming an Au Pair, the more sure I am that this is the path for me.
Preserving that childlike sparkle in a safe, educational, and encouraging environment is one priority of mine that I believe sets me apart from many other candidates. In a world where there is so much going on that we are subjected to all the time, it is so easy to forget to stop and enjoy where you are in life. In the same vein, working as a tutor helped me realize that many children lose their zest for learning due to not being able to have that one-on-one focused learning environment.
I hope that as an Au-Pair or live in tutor, I can become exactly what your family needs for your child(ren) to reach their potential in education and daily life in a way that encourages to see life in a positive and evolved perspectives, as my thirteen years working in childcare has done for me.

Experience

My experience tutoring has been nothing short of wonderful. Every child I have worked with has had an incredible impact on who I have become as a person, which is one of the many reasons I love this line of work. It is boundlessly rewarding to be the person to help a child understand something they’ve been struggling with.
In 2022-2023, I worked in an after school program for children with PTSD as a first grade tutor. I emphasized the importance of approaching difficult situations with emotional intelligence and finding the right words to use to express their needs. One thing I will never forget is the way these kids evolved over the course of the school year compared to the other groups. My first graders were able to settle conflict with one another at a level that the second thru fifth graders in the program hadn’t learned. I provided them with the words and coping skills to settle arguments on their own, taught them math and reading at higher grade levels when they were able to surpass theirs, and created memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. I believe that as an Au Pair or live-in tutor, I can be that person for your family.
As for my own reasons to become an Au Pair or live-in tutor, those go hand in hand. Every single child I have worked with has taught me something in one way or another, be it something about myself, conflict resolution, adapting to the needs of others, patience, the list is ever growing. I have learned over the years that I am fit for this field because of these things and would love further opportunities to become the childcare worker I aspire to be with each day.
