Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,
I am so excited to get to know you and your family, and take care of your kids! My name is Miriam and I am a second year student at the Ohio State University. I am studying medical anthropology and plan on pursuing a career in the medical field. I have extensive experience with kids and I am an extremely open-minded person. Throughout middle school and high school I worked at a daycare, caring for kids ages 0-5. This past year I started weekly activity sessions for kids. Each sunday, parents drop their kids off and I planned out activities such as visiting local lakes, and art projects. I have been babysitting since I was 13 and nannied for a lovely family one summer. I worked as an Aupair last summer in Spain and loved it!

Experience

I want to become an Au Pair because it combines the two things I love; kids and travel! I have been fortunate enough to experience cultural exchange programs, in which I have discovered the importance of immersion. When I was 16 years old I studied in Argentina for 6 months, and recently I had a medical internship in Ecuador, where I stayed with a host family. Both families made lasting impacts on me, and still hold a special place in my heart. Although I have been lucky to travel to other countries such as Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to aid my mom in her veterinary work, living in South America has permitted me to learn Spanish which I am so thankful for.
