Dear Host Family,

My name is Emma Maria. I am 17 years old and will be 18 when I start my gap year as an au pair and I’m from Germany. I am currently finishing my last year of school and preparing for my final exams. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, going for walks, and reading.

I have chosen to spend my au pair year in London because I am fascinated by the city’s cultural diversity and history. I am eager to improve my English and experience the British way of life firsthand. A year abroad will give me the opportunity to grow personally and gain a deeper understanding of another culture.

One of my key qualifications for this role is my experience with children. I have six younger siblings, whom I have helped care for since I was young. Through this, I have learned to be responsible and patient, and I understand the importance of creating a safe and caring environment for children. I enjoy engaging with them, finding creative ways to spend time together, and helping them learn new things.
