Letter to the family
Mabuhay to my future host family!
I hope you're having a great day! You surely get a lot of these letters from prospective Au Pairs,
but rest assured, you will not regret to read about my reasons why I want to become your next
Au pair. Let me start by sharing a little about myself. My name is Via Aurea but I go
by the name Via. I am 25 years old and currently living in The Netherlands. I was born on
September 3, 1999. I am an only child and I came from a broken family, that's why I have been
living independently since I was 18. My father lives with his new wife and son in a province in
the Philippines and my mother is in Lebanon working as an (OFW) Overseas Filipino Worker for
21 years now.
I am currently an Au Pair here in the Netherlands, and my contract will end on September 10,
2025. My current schedule and task includes light household chores such as preparing
breakfast and lunch box for the kids, vacuum, laundry, iron and tidying kids room and
sometimes cooking dinner for the family. I bring and pick up the kids from school, play with the
kids, and bring them to their activities or sports.
I’m very active and love to play sports mainly volleyball as I was a varsity player in my Senior
High School and University. I am very sporty and love to engage in fun activities like cooking,
baking, painting, singing, dancing and other outdoor activities like hiking and camping.
Given a chance to be your next Au pair, I know that it will not always be just fun and play.
Should there be instances where I would need to instill discipline (example sudden temper
tantrums), rest assured that my calm and patient personality will make handling those kinds of
situations smoothly.
Living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I respect that the house is your
house and that I have to follow your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I
prefer to talk about it instead of ignoring things. I can easily adapt to changes and I am very
flexible. I am very excited to know more about Danish culture, and I also would love to share our
culture and traditions as a Filipino. I know it's a completely different place for me, but I can
assure you that I can easily adjust. I am very eager to hear more about you and your children
and I am looking forward to share more about myself through an interview with you soon.
Sincerely,
Via
