Dear Host family,

Hello! My name is Harriet, and I’m currently studying for a BA in Design at Loughborough University. I’m on a year in industry, working at an independent boarding school near Brighton, where I teach during the day and support with boarding duties in the evenings. I’m looking for an au pair position over the summer before returning to university for my final year.

I grew up in Royal Tunbridge Wells, a large town in the south of England, and come from a family of educators—both of my parents are secondary school teachers. This upbringing has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of supporting children in their learning and development.

I absolutely love helping children be the best they can be, whether that’s encouraging a love for the outdoors, guiding them as they learn to draw and create, or teaching them valuable kitchen skills and food knowledge. I believe that every child has unique potential, and I’m passionate about helping them explore and grow in ways that suit their individual personalities and needs.

I’m an adventurous person who enjoys stepping out of my comfort zone, whether that’s through hiking, climbing, or embracing new life experiences. I’m energetic, bubbly, and always ready to bring positivity into everything I do. I’m also hardworking, reliable, and enjoy rolling up my sleeves to help with tasks around the house.

With my background in teaching, I’ve developed excellent communication skills, patience, and an understanding of how to create a nurturing, structured environment for children. I also love cooking and would be delighted to help with meal preparation and other daily routines.

In return for my support, I would expect free accommodation and food, as well as a small amount of money for spending each week.
