Since I was 14, I've been volunteering as a counselor for the Protestant church with young people aged 12-14. As part of this work, I've also acquired officially recognized licenses such as the Teamercard and the Youth Group Leader Certificate. I've helped plan and implement project days, camps, confirmation classes, and similar activities, giving me my first insights into working with children and youth. In 2022, I completed a week-long internship at a kindergarten, where I learned a lot about working with younger children. This year, I also had the opportunity to help organize our school camp, where we look after children (10-13 years old). I also train children aged 5-13 in Jiu-Jitsu once a week, supporting my coach. Through these various projects, I've been able to gain at least a basic understanding of many different educational approaches over the past few years. As an au pair abroad, I hope to gain new pedagogical approaches and learn a lot about parenting in other cultures by immersing myself in another family. At the same time, I hope to incorporate my own previous knowledge into the everyday life of my host family.
