Letter to the family

Dear host family,

My name is Madeleine , and I would make a fantastic addition to your family as an au pair and tutor. As someone with experience in childcare, as well as school assistance. I am currently nannying for a three-year-old and ten-month-old, as well as tutoring someone in high school English.

As a nanny, my first and foremost priority is always safety. That's why I made sure to get certification not only in CPR, but in First Aid and AED. That way, I am prepared in case of any emergency. Even though I am hanging out with them, these are your children and there's no excuse to not put safety first.

After that, I look for ways to engage kids outside of watching TV or video games. There's nothing wrong with watching a little bit of Peppa Pig at the end of the day to relax, but there is more to life than staring at a screen. I believe in going on long nature walks, doing arts and crafts, making up silly dances, reading books together, and playing pretend. You're only a kid once!

As a tutor, I specialize in English, Music, History, and French. These were subjects I excelled in at school and still study today. Even though my degree is in theatre, a majority of my experience focused on reading and analysing plays, writing essays on them, and creating strong arguments for my perspective, much like in an English class. Along with that, I had to study the history of dramatic literature, and how different historical periods affected the art we made. I studied French in high school, and have continued to study it independently through different online classes.

Being part of your family would be an honor, and I look forward to chatting with you!

Experience

I was instilled with a love of travel since I was young, and had the opportunities to travel all around the world with my mom. One day, I would really like to live in London, but that is far easier said than done.

Being an au pair/tutor would allow me to fulfill my need for adventure while having work. I could use days off to explore, and still have a stable income. I am also interested in politics outside of America, and would really like to use my time to understand the political landscape and issues within your country. There is only so much we can learn through a book, I want to be able to experience events first-hand.
