Letter to the family

hi there!

Thank you for taking the time to go through my profile.
My name is Amy and I'm 17 years old. I'm living with my mother and my 16 years old sister, in Quebec. We moved from Switzerland a few months ago. I'll finish school this year and I'm planning to get an Attestation of College Studies (ACS).

As a short introduction of myself, I don't practice any sport on a regular basis, but I do like to swim a lot and ice skating is one of my favorite activities. One of my favorite hobbies is reading and I like to draw as well. I couldn't choose between the two of them! I love to read, because when I do, it's like I'm on another planet, living all the adventures, feeling the emotions as they are described in the book. When I really enjoy a book I can finish it within 24 hours. (I can't wait to have access to an English library to browse through all the literature I like.)

When it comes to children, I don't have that much experience but get along with them pretty well and like spending time with them. One of the reasons why I really want to be an Au pair is so I can develop and improve my skills taking care of children.
I used to spend a lot of time with our family's children, when they would come over for dinner and special occasions. It was always nice playing and interacting with them. I know that if I'm about to be an Au pair I would have to take care of the children with all the responsibilities that this includes. I'm lucky to be a patient person, I think that helps with children, and I love spending time with them.

Another reason why I want to be an Au pair is that I really want to improve my English. I've learned English from books, series, songs and of course at school. It's kind of interesting when you know two languages (French and English) but I wish to get better at it. Then again, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children as well.
