Letter to the family
Originally translated from Français
Dear Host Family,
Hi! My name is Emilia, and I dream of becoming an au pair in France, taking care of your child(ren), spending time with your family, discovering the country, and practicing the language.
First, I would like to introduce myself:
I am 18 years old and I live in Salzburg, Austria. I was born here and live here with my mother, Heike. She works as a headhunter, and my father, Stephan, is a freelance architect. My family is very large: I have three half-brothers and one half-sister. When my half-brothers David (13) and Valentin (10) were younger, I often took care of them. We spent a lot of time together, and I have very fond memories of it.
I am currently in my final year of high school and will be taking my baccalaureate in June of this year! After that, I'll be taking a gap year before starting my studies. I've always loved children, and I love spending time and playing with them. That's one of the reasons why I'd love to work as an au pair!
I'm organized, responsible, helpful, and kind. I've also been a member of the student council and class representative. I have an open mind and am always ready for new adventures. Furthermore, family is very important to me. Thanks to school, I learned English and have a C1 level (Cambridge Certificate). I've been learning French for almost four years and have obtained the DELF certificate at B2 level. My mother tongue is German. I'm also currently getting my driver's license; I plan to finish it in July.
I'm passionate about sports. I've been playing volleyball for three years and I love my team! I also enjoy jogging and being outdoors in general. I also spend a lot of time with my friends going downtown, shopping, or having coffee. It's always a lot of fun! I know how to play the piano and I love music. Traveling is also very important to me. Discovering other countries, practicing foreign languages, and meeting new people are things I love.
I've already visited France four times, and it was an incredible experience! I've been to Paris twice and the South of France twice. Overall, I love the language, the country, the people, and the culture, and I would like to spend more time there to experience more of the culture. I love to travel, and going to France as an au pair has always been a dream of mine. I can't wait to come back to France!
During my planned stay in France, I hope to learn to speak French fluently, discover the country, and spend unforgettable moments with your family!
Thank you for reading my letter! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I hope to be the ideal au pair for your family, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, and see you soon,
Emilia
