Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

I hope this letter finds you well and filled with joy. My name is Marcela Valle, and I would like to share a bit about who I am and why I aspire to become an Au Pair in your home.

As mentioned earlier, I am Marcela Valle, a 30-year-old Colombian with a background in psychology and a deep passion for clinical neuropsychology. My motivation to become an Au Pair goes beyond a mere adventure; my primary objective is to gain invaluable experience in caring for and supporting children in their developmental and learning processes, including teaching strategies for children with autism and ADHD. Additionally, I am eager to provide care for elderly individuals facing challenges such as Alzheimer's, other dementias, stroke survivors, and psychiatric patients with cognitive impairments.

My interest in caring for and supporting individuals of all ages facing neuropsychological challenges stems from my firm belief in the importance of equipping each person with the necessary tools to reach their maximum potential. I want to be part of the process that empowers them to overcome the obstacles they may encounter and enhance their quality of life.

I also have experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of various disorders related to the central nervous system or the brain. My background in neuropsychology enables me to understand and address the specific needs of each individual, whether it be a child, an elderly person, or someone grappling with neuropsychiatric issues.

The reason I believe your family should consider me as your Au Pair is my dedication, patience, and empathy. I am committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all family members, where they can grow, learn, and prosper, regardless of the challenges they may face.

My prior experience in interacting with people from diverse cultures, coupled with my effective communication skills, makes me well-suited for this role. I am enthusiastic about sharing my culture while learning from yours, fostering an enriching exchange for all.

I would love to become part of your family as an Au Pair, offering care, support, and affection to your children and older family members while gaining valuable experience in the field of neuropsychology and mental health. I am confident that together, we can create an environment of growth and happiness for your family.

I eagerly anticipate the possibility of meeting you in person and discussing how I can contribute to the well-being and development of your family.

With warmth and enthusiasm,

Marce Valle

Experience

Experience in Childcare:

My experience in childcare dates back to a young age when I began taking care of my relatives' children. During summers, I took on the responsibility of waking them up, preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, looking after their clothing and personal belongings, and ensuring they followed a proper bedtime routine. During this time, we engaged in various activities, such as arts and crafts and games, not only for enjoyment but also to instill essential values, such as responsibility, respect for others and nature, gratitude, and love.

In addition to my experience with children, after completing high school, I had the opportunity to complete 480 hours of social work at the "Mickey Mouse House," a kindergarten. There, I worked with students ranging from 3 to 12 years old, assisting them with their homework and participating in recreational activities designed to stimulate their cognitive and social development.

Experience with Elderly and Psychiatric Patients:

In addition to my childcare experience, I have had the privilege of working at the Buenos Aires Institute of Neurosciences (INEBA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In this capacity, I collaborated in the Cognitive Hospital with elderly individuals, providing specialized care and support to those facing challenges such as Alzheimer's and other dementias. I also worked in the neuropsychology department with psychiatric patients, addressing cognitive impairment related to mental disorders.

Furthermore, I was involved in the field of neurology and neuropsychology, where I worked with patients who had experienced strokes and other central nervous system diseases. I was engaged in the evaluation, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of these patients, offering comprehensive care to help them regain their cognitive and functional abilities.

Regarding my experience as an Au Pair, I have had the opportunity to live in the United States as an Au Pair in Indiana and California, where I enjoyed and learned from new families and cultures.

This array of experiences in childcare and in the field of neuropsychology and mental health has prepared me to take on the responsibilities of an Au Pair effectively and compassionately. I am excited about the possibility of sharing my expertise and providing support in your home while continuing to enrich my personal development.
