Dear Host Family,

My name is Beatriz, I am 18 years old and I am from Madeira, Portugal. At the moment, I am finishing my Business Management degree and doing an internship. Although I have the opportunity to enter university, I decided to take a gap year as an au pair, which I see as a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow, while living a new culture and contributing to a family’s well-being.

As the oldest in my family, I have taken care of my grandmother, my sister, and all of my 10 cousins. This responsibility has been an amazing experience and has made me realize that caring for children is truly my vocation. Moreover, I have a dream of becoming a mother and I am passionate about learning everything related to education and motherhood in the best possible way.

I believe that being an au pair is a great way to get involved in children's development, while also living a new culture up close. I am committed to taking care of the children with love, responsibility, and dedication, as well as helping with daily tasks, providing support in education, and learning new routines.

I am fluent in Portuguese and English, have basic knowledge of Spanish and French, and have been studying German for about a year. I also have constant exposure to Italian through my Italian family, which allows me to stay in touch with the language. With my experience and love for children, I believe I can be a great addition to your family, helping with daily activities while integrating into the local culture and sharing a bit of mine.
