Letter to the family

Originally translated from Español
Hello! I am Selene, a young Venezuelan resident in Chile since August 2018. I currently work as a real estate consultant in this country, but I have a degree in Social Communication, with experience in journalism.
I am the oldest of three sisters, they are still in Venezuela; My parents are teachers: Simón is a specialist in workshops and technical drawing; Jessica, preschool teacher.
I was educated under the Catholic religion, but I like to know other cultures and I have as a flag the respect for the differences of others.
People who know me could describe me as cheerful, persistent, VERY curious and adventurous, intelligent, caring and helpful. Well they are not far from reality.

Being an Au Pair I see as an opportunity to explore the world outside my comfort zone, meet new people, adopt new customs and contribute my knowledge to another social circle. I have always been interested in cultural exchange and this seems to be a good way. And of course: I want to learn languages. It is one of my most important life projects.

To know if your family needs someone like me, we have to know each other. But I can assure you that with my adaptability and the will I have to learn and support, you will not regret it.

Do you think if we know each other better?

Experience

Originally translated from Español
I have not been an Au Pair, but I have worked as a recreator in camps, babysitting and teaching.

In Venezuela I led several camps for companies and churches, I made a substitute in schools and many times I offered to babysit.

In Chile it also touched me, more than out of pleasure, out of necessity. Arriving here I did not yet have the stability that would allow me to look for another job (a little more formal), so I took advantage of my tools and knowledge to offer my service as a nanny and caregiver. I spent a couple of months with a family of three children: 4, 11 and 13 years old. The 4-year-old took care of him full time; The other two I looked for at noon at school.

After that, I spent 6 months working in a family home and, in addition to housework, I also took care of 3 youngsters: 10, 13 and 15 years old. This time the pet joined, a quite restless and happy dog.
