Hi! My name is Stephanie, and I’m from the United States! I live in Washington State, on a small island not far from Seattle (accessible only by ferry). I’m 18 years old, and am going to be graduating high school this June with a 3.997 GPA! For the past year I have also been doing a dual enrollment with a local community college, taking classes there and earning both college and high school credit. I want to take a gap year between graduating high school and starting college (for fashion design!), mainly to broaden my horizons and experience new things. I have lots of experience working with kids, and I really enjoy it so I believe that being an Au Pair will be a great fit for me!

I have tons of experience with childcare and care in general, starting with the fact that I have two younger siblings, a brother who is three years younger than me and a sister who is ten years younger than me. I have experience taking care of both of them, but primarily my sister. I’ve also worked as a babysitter since I was 13, holding multiple regular babysitting jobs as well as teaching sewing lessons! I’ve worked as a camp counselor, mainly when I was younger during the summer. This involved being one of usually 3-5 counselors watching over 20-30 kids. I also was a caregiver for a developmentally disabled adult for about a year and a half, starting when I was 16. My work consisted of assisting her and her parents in things like cooking and cleaning as well as playing games, going on walks, and reading. Beyond that, I’ve been a part of a club that provides peer led sex education and relationship skills to youths in my community for the past three years! This involves teaching kids aged 11-16 in a classroom environment as well as peer to peer smaller conversations. I think all of this builds a very well rounded general experience with kids of all ages!

I have a basic knowledge of French. I took three years of it in school, I even earned my seal of biliteracy, but they cut the French program two years ago so I am out of practice. I am working on regaining most of those skills in preparation for this next step!
