Letter to the family

Originally translated from Français
Hello,

My name is Sirine, I am a 24 year old student currently finishing a master's degree in geology at the University of Liège (Belgium).

I would define myself as someone who is curious and helpful, which seems to me to be essential qualities when moving to an unknown country and as an au pair. Indeed, curious to discover the world because I like to travel, discover new cultures, new countries, new languages and curious because I like to understand everything around me and always ask me questions (my side maybe be a little more scientific and rational), both in relationships (I like to communicate and learn about others) and in work. I also say that I am helpful because I am generally attentive to my family and friends, for example, by preparing a good meal for them, by giving them small gifts, or by helping my roommates in their learning French.

For me, I don't see the "au pair" experience as just babysitting or someone who always has to be at home and whose main task is looking after the household. I really want this experience to be enriching for me too, that there is a sharing with the family, to learn about the children and to teach them too, but I also want to be able to have my own experiences alone, for example by traveling in the town and its surroundings during the weekends (if possible so have free weekends), or by meeting other young people from the country / traveling like me. Finally, it is also very important to me to be able to take a language course (I would therefore prefer a large city in the immediate vicinity) and to practice regular physical activity when the children are at school for example or when you can take them. in charge for a brief moment.

I had the opportunity to travel recently to Rotterdam during a weekend and I must say that the general atmosphere, the conception of the city and its cleanliness particularly marked me compared to Belgium, c tis why I had the furious desire to return, as soon as I could, to see the Netherlands. I have also been to Germany a few times several years ago and I would also be interested in rediscovering this country.

Regarding my language skills, I already know a few notions of Dutch (~ A1) but I would very much like to be able to relearn it and update myself in an immersive context within a family or by following lessons. In addition, I have better knowledge of English (~ B1) and would also like to improve myself by taking courses.

Finally, I think and hope to be able to meet your expectations as a future au pair, tutor or even home help, and above all, that we will have the opportunity to share a great adventure together! I will be available for you from mid-September to the end of December.

Experience

Originally translated from Français
I had the opportunity to take a practical training course in basic baby-sitter training a few years ago. It was an enriching experience because we not only learned the pedagogy to adopt with the little ones, how to take care of a baby (carry it, change it, feed it), but also the first aid actions which can be helpful and reassuring for parents.

Following this internship, I was able to take care of a few children and in particular a baby. It has also happened to me to supervise children within our family.
