Hello!!

First of all, thanks for taking a look at my profile! ?

My name is Laura, I am a 22-year-old energetic and enthusiastic girl from a small village in Catalonia, Spain. I love being active and enjoy doing all kinds of activities, especially those that involve being around people. I consider myself a very sociable person, and I truly enjoy spending time with others, whether it’s playing games, exploring new places, or just going out for a coffee or to watch a movie.

I am currently in my third year of my Primary Education degree, which I study entirely in English, to become a teacher. At the same time, I take additional courses on different subjects outside of university because I love learning new things and expanding my knowledge. I am a very curious person, and I take every opportunity to discover and understand more about the world—especially topics like the universe, education, and child development.

I have a lot of experience working with children. I previously worked as an au pair in the Netherlands when I was 18, and since then, I have continued to gain experience. I have worked teaching summer tutoring classes, coaching basketball for young kids, and I am currently doing internships in primary schools as part of my university studies. These experiences have helped me develop patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of children’s needs and learning processes.

I love thinking of creative activities and planning fun experiences for children. In my free time, I enjoy going for walks/hiking, hanging out with my friends or with my family, making exciting plans, and watching basketball, which I have always loved since I used to play it when I was younger.

I would love to spend this summer as an au pair to learn from a new culture, working even more with my english and, of course, sharing time with a host-family and their children!

Experience

I have a leisure monitor certification to be able to work sometimes as a leisure monitor.
I have a lot of experience working with children in different settings. I spent two years coaching a basketball team for kids aged 4-8 and, this year, I have also been helping train another basketball team with slightly older kids. Additionally, I have worked teaching summer tutoring classes, helping children with their studies during the holidays.
As part of my university degree in Primary Education, I am currently doing internships in primary schools, where I assist teachers and gain hands-on experience in the classroom. I also participated in school activities with second-grade students (ages 6-8) for a few days.
On top of that, I have experience taking care of my younger cousins from time to time, which has also helped me develop patience and creativity when spending time with kids.
