Letter to the family

Hello!
My name is Leigh - I am so excited to introduce myself as a potential au pair for your family! I am 18 years old, I come from Ireland - I always had a passion to work with children, learning about different cultures, to solo work abroad and being an au pair brings all that together.

I don’t have a lot of experience in working with children, but everyone has to start somewhere. I studied a pre nursing course and I hope to continue my studies to be a paediatric nurse later in future. I’d like to add that I am first aid trained.
After April, When I fully graduate with the marks I get I will be a fully qualified Healthcare Assistant, I would truly love to be part of a family where I can contribute, learn and create meaningful bonds.
I’m happy to help with light household tasks such as cooking meals or help with tidying!

Beyond childcare, I am extremely excited about the cultural exchange side of being an au pair. I’d love to share my language, traditions and even recipes with your family and learn about your lifestyle.

Experience

I would love to travel abroad as an au pair because it allows me to experience a new culture in the most genuine and personal way-by becoming part of a family. It’s very different from just being a tourist.

I’m also curious in how people live in the world around us - what their traditions are, what they eat,how they raise their children. Being an au pair means not only do I observe that, I get to participate aswell.

The feeling of knowing I’ll never be this young again and have an opportunity for such an experience just to pass it down is crazy to me. Travelling is my purpose as well as taking care of children. Both are very important to me.
